Manufacturers sometimes make things as difficult as possible

We recently purchased a new fridge after the compressor in our five-year-old one ‘failed to compress!’ We needed to register the new one with the manufacturer. So they needed all sorts of details which weren’t on the documentation that came with the unit. Their website told us where to find the information panel on the side of the lower freezer cabinet wall. There are two freezer drawers but the top one doesn’t come out. If you pull it out as far as you can, you can see the manufacturer’s plate, tucked up half hidden by the drawer. Do they put it there purposely to make it as difficult as possible to read? You’d have to think so. Vince had to lay on his side with his head half in the cabinet and try to manipulate his phone to take a photo of the plate. It was the only way to read it. Maybe they’d prefer people didn’t register their appliances then they wouldn’t have to worry about replacement/repair if something goes wrong. When Vince went to get up, he’d scraped the skin on his elbow and there was quite a patch of blood on the floor. Being on blood-thinners and now being elderly and having this skin means he bleeds easily. So that was our excitement for the day. Movies at the clubhouse tonight. Photo is mine.

Oh! Sorry about that. Hope the movie night goes well and cheers up Vince. It does sound like something not user friendly at all. Maybe there is way to give them feedback to improve there

I'm thinking I'll write to them about it. It is simply ridiculous that the plate is in such a position.

I noticed that they place the information we need in the most difficult places to reach! I am so sorry Vince scraped his skin, I hope it's nothing serious.

Vince has quite thin skin now and it deosn't take much to make him bleed. Being on blood-thinners means if he knocks himself, it bleeds easily.

@JudyEv - This is true, my husband needs the aspirin every day, but at least he stops bleeding soon.

I think this is the trend. Stick to regulations, but make it as difficult as possible to follow through

That makes me annoyed. He shouldn’t have had to hurt himself to get that taken care of.

I have had to take pictures of things before too. I think it is to keep you from registering for the warranty

Poor Vince!! it is crazy that they put all that info in a place that isn't easy to access. I wonder if you're right that they do it on purpose. Sure seems like it. Enjoy your movies at the clubhouse tonight,

Yeah they do hide that info. That is terrible place to put it.
