No, but it is not me. Finally, my father-in-law had his procedures done last February 7. Yes, same date as mine. Mine was scheduled in the morning at 9:00am and his was done early evening or late in the afternoon. Two procedures were done, one for the removal of bladder stones. They have to do an open procedure for that and not proceed with the laser treatment. The doctor said that there were too many and that the laser might not be able to break all the stones in one session only. All in all, he has 90+ stones, excluding the one he passed out. The second procedure was for the prostate. It was called TURP. They resect the prostate to decrease its size. The normal prostate weighs about 20 grams. My FIL's prostate weighs 68 grams. He stayed at the hospital for a total of 7 or 8 days. After 10 days post op, they remove the catheter. So finally, he was able to pass the urine without the catheter.

Your poor father in law really had plenty of stones. The doctor was right not to try the laser surgery. He must feel so much better now.

He feels better now. We told him (as a joke) that it seems he collected all those stones throughout his life and more, maybe one or two stones a year, he is 75 and his stone is 90+ or more

Is he getting better now? I hope he does so, he can be back to his normal routine. Are you also scheduled for surgery? Why?

Your FiL certainly had some very serious and painful health issues. I’m happy for him that he’s on the way to recovery. It must have been so difficult for him and his loving family.

He really had some serious issues, it was a blessing that he was able to get them both addressed during a single stay in the hospital. It must have been hard on his body, but I hope that he is recovering and feeling better a little more each day.
