I went to the Russian store with my mom yesterday that we usually don’t shop at and decided to get a poppyseed danish. I haven’t had it in a really long time.
My mom asked them if it’s fresh and the lady said it’s from the day before. She put one in a bag so I can touch it. It was still pretty soft so I decided to get it. And my mom decided she wanted one as well.
I thought the danish would be per piece but instead it turned out to be per pound; the price per pound was $11.99. One danish came out to over $5. That’s like high-end bakery prices.
I had half of it yesterday after dinner and it was actually pretty tasty. I’ll have the rest right now. While I don’t regret buying it, if I knew ahead of time how much it actually cost I wouldn’t have gotten it.

I don’t remember it ever being per pound, let alone so much for one.

@lovebuglena I agree, when they stuff with too much, it's no more good, too sweet

I love poppyseed danishes however I don’t like it when they overstuff it with poppyseeds. Becomes too sweet.

@lovebuglena I'm sure that happens from time to time.

The name on the price sticker was different from what we got. Now, wondering if the lady at the counter made a mistake and entered the code for the wrong item.
