What Do You Think of Reboots?

I never cared for reboots of original shows. I remember when they did one of "Charmed". It was a flop. Now they are beginning one of "X-Files". I think it is a mistake. The reboot is never the same as the original and fans end up being disappointed. As if they really thought the new one could be as good. Never happens. I can see continuing a story that was left hanging like in the case of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer". A really good show is just that a good show. You can't repeat or start it up again. When it is done, it's done. What are your thoughts?

I totally agree. For example, the original movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is so good and classic. Then around 10 years ago or so, they made a reboot that is trash.

That is so true. And they make so many remakes like they have no imagination to do anything else.

I'm with you on that. I loved the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I would love to see a reboot of Lost, Friends or The Office.

But what if it wasn't the same characters and some basic storyline and characters were changed?

The original actors can't be duplicated so no on reboots.

@celticeagle Can you imagine replacing Archie or Edith on All in the Family?

I do not like reboots of classic shows since the reboots will contain material that was forbidden like cussing or telling dirty jokes.

I think most should be left alone. I always enjoyed the X Files

You should leave well enough alone and just enjoy the reruns.

That's what I have learned. I just go back and watch it again. Sometimes i wish for a continuation of the original storyline.

I tend to think much the same as you said on your post. I am not a fan of reboots or remakes at all Unless I have not seen the original

Yes, I agree. After seeing an original it is a hard sell on a remake.
