Wildlife officials rescue a bald eagle who was entangled in a fishing line

North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission officers traveled by a boat for seven miles in the Haw River in Alamance County on Friday March 27 when a female bald eagle was entangled in a fishing line. After the wildlife officials managed to rescue the eagle was taken to the American Wildlife Refuge to be rehabilitated and get some medical attention. The good news is that the bald eagle is expected to be released from the facility with the next week. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/...

I'm glad they got it freed from the fishing line and it will be released back to the wild soon.

I hope that the bald eagle did not become more bald as a result of such entanglement, causing it to lose a few more feathers. Fishing lines, discarded like that, are a real hazard to poor animals, and birds, like this one was.
