I think the weather people are having too much fun.

We have been having a lot of rain. Thunderstorms, hail, etc. have been going on and off for several days. Currently, the thunder is VERY loud, and the rain is pounding on the roof. Off and on, we hear the hail start up and then stop, as well. I booted up the Accuweather app that is usually fairly accurate. Today, I think they might be wrong, though. This is the first thing I saw--
''Wednesday, April 1
Current Weather
3:39 AM
42°F
Heavy snow
RealFeel® 22°''
Snow at 42 degrees isn't happening right now. It does feel pretty cold, but not snowing. One night this past winter, it was very, very cold. I went on there to check the temperature and according to Accuweather, it was MINUS 112 degrees. (it was minus 12, that's cold enough!) Maybe someone there is just trying to see if we are awake!!

I also received a warning for high winds, I opened the app and the warning disappeared, but we had very strong wind.

Maybe the app is just in a snarl or has problems. One time yesterday, during one of our numerous thunderstorms, I looked at it to see how long it would rain--and their radar showed NO rain anywhere within a 100+ mile radius in my area, when it was pouring down outside. I asked the son to boot it up on his phone, and it said the same. I went to the local app for our TV station weather, and the map was completely lit up with incoming storms. I think someone important messed up at Accuweather!

I would think the same, but the app did this a few days ago when we had a thunderstorm, and said it was snowing. So I think somehow it’s wacky.

I don't think it is. It happened several days ago off and on for a day, and then again this morning. I think they just messed it up, like in this case it says it ''feels like'' 22 degrees, and that's way below freezing.

I am learning to expect the unexpected, when it comes to the weather.

I think some of these apps are automated and make more mistakes than people do sometimes!

I agree with you, but in my case the Weather Channel never, ever gets it right--at least not for my area, so I don't use it anymore.

I live in tornado alley. If it’s storming, I check.

@MarieCoyle I only used it when traveling. But when I'm just in my hometown, I don't use it.

I do appreciate it when someone at least makes an attempt at it.

They have done the snow thing a few days ago that I noticed, when it was pouring down rain. That's why I think it wasn't for April Fool's Day.

It can snow if it's cold enough in the clouds. It just won't stick.

The app isn’t 100 percent accurate, and maybe that’s why it was April Fool’s Day. That’s how they play some tricks. Haha.

It’s happened on other days recently so I don’t think it was as April Fools Day joke.
