Yes, 45 years ago today , on Wednesday April 1st I broadcast my first ever programme on hospital radio. It was an easy listening music programme. The radio station was called Sandwell Valley Radio , but this was later changed to Sandwell Hospital Radio. I had been a member for several months. I was an active member , doing ward walks and fundraising and was a record librarian. I also later took on a second programme called Younger Generation, which was the children’s programme. During my time there I also was awarded Presenter of the Year. Anyway, Happy Anniversary to me ……

@Traceyjayne Sure. I have had my moments as well. Mostly when I was in my teens and twenties.

@Traceyjayne I think they might, if you tell them you’ve got a shady past. Seems to work for many.

I would love that actually …..I may have to change it from the breakfast show to the brunch show so that I can have a lie in …..do you think the bbc will go for that ?

Oh, very nice! I was a radio presenter, too, in my mid-twenties. I worked on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, doing a Christian Music show after one of the local churches broadcast their sermons on Wed. night and Sun. morning. I did that for 5 years. This is NOT a prank. This really happened.

@Traceyjayne When I was younger, I always worked one full-time job and two part-time jobs at the same time. I always took Pretty to work with me to the part-time jobs. She entertained herself when I was busy actually working and the rest of the time we played cards.

And congratulations from me. I'm sure you would have dozens of happy memories of your time there. Volunteers do such good work in all sorts of ways.
