Noisy Night

Especially right before I went to bed. A loud thunderstorm came through. One boom was loud enough to make Duke and Patch jump up to look around. Then the phones went off with a tornado warning. It was just radar indicated and that part was already past us by then. The weather man broke into programming and said he couldn't see anything to worry about. Maybe just a very little spin in one area. But he wasn't seeing any other signs of a tornado like hail. So I went to bed and enjoyed the thunder.
I am thinking I will go walk around the auction today. Might get lucky and find something I want. But it's a nice day so will be fun to be out.
I found one of my kiddie pools on the ground yesterday evening. I had it on an old metal patio table and one of the legs finally broke. So I might get that emptied out today too. That table is at least 15 years old so I can't complain.

We have had some boomer thunder off and on for the last 3 days. And last night we had some more. No lashing rain, just fairly mild compared to what we have been having, but lots of thunder and lightning. I do have to say that this spring we have had more hail here than I can recall seeing any other year I've been here. Big or little, whatever, hail seems almost normal now rather than just being occasional. Weird.

These 2 are not. Jill doberman's mom was very scared of them. She learned the flash of lightening meant thunder would follow.

Aw, poor babies. Freckles would hide in any corner she could find, so eventually I'd sit in the hallway, close all the doors leading to other rooms, and hold her while the storm passed. She'd shake like she was on a paint can shaker.

They weren't scared it just startled them as it was very close and loud. They both went right back to sleep 
. Bunny doberman, Jill's mom, was like that. She even left baby Jill and her brother during one storm. She jumped into bed with us and dived under the covers. I remember looking at hubby and say Didn't we raise our kids already

We had several storms roll though here last night, too. One lightning strike hit the lightning rod over the neighbor's pool table room in the back yard. The lightning lit up my room for many seconds and the thunder kept rolling and shaking our house. That certainly startled me and woke Pretty up with a shout. 
The local weather channel shows we got around an inch of rain last night in total. 
I hope that was enough to bring us out of the drought we've been in this year but I bet it wasn't. *shrug*
I'm still not over whatever bug I have. I'm not throwing up this morning but I still don't feel very well. I think I caught something when I was in the ER a few days ago. I kept my mask on as much as the nurses would let me but not all of them were willing to walk back to the nursing station for the electronic temperature gauge that is point and shoot. *shrug*

I know how that is as several years ago the neighbors phone box got hit. This one last night was fairly close. I don't know how much we got.

I'm glad you didn't get a tornado! I like listening to thunderstorms at night, but it's better when they are farther away.

That's good that they let people know that there is a tornado coming there way
Tornados move quite quickly , don't that?
Was there lightning with the Thunder
That's when I like the Thunder best
Can't complain about a table which has lasted 15 years
