Poor Taste / myLot

I saw something recently I thought was in very poor taste. A couple of people actually brought it to my attention, but it was in such poor taste I would have eventually noticed it myself. I got to thinking, does the person who is responsible for it know how it would be received? Did they care? Which made me think about my past actions, and think hard. Have you accidentally done something, or shared something in poor taste? Do you think most people knowingly do what they do, and just not care? I’d really like opinions on this. I realize taste is subjective, but sometimes you find something pretty much everyone agrees on.

Yes, I realized later what I'd written and changed it, as you saw. In a private conversation, I wouldn't have worried about it but, myLot isn't "private" so I deleted and wrote something different.

@Juliaacv I usually only see one myLotter who posts disgusting things here. I report them and GAA eventually takes them down. I took mine down myself.

There is a lady in the village who posts tasteless cartoons on our FB page. I'm sure she doesn't see anything wrong with them but I know some don't appreciate them.

@AmbiePam I know everyone is different but she must think these are okay for public consumption or she wouldn't put them up. Others have commented to me about them so I don't think it is just me who doesn't really like them.

It's true that taste is subjective and it's all true that there's always something that everybody seems to agree is of good taste. I normally share something that I find really impressive.

I do my best not to offend someone who finds material that is in poor taste since the line if "A joke is funny until you are the victim and it is hilarious."
