Better Late Than Never As The Saying Goes

Happy Monday Everyone! it's a beautiful sunny day here today.
I'm here way later than usual. But, as the saying goes, better late than never.
Was up early as I had a doctor appointment and then had to go for bloodwork. Yikes, they took 5 vials of blood and it didn't hurt at all. The girl who took my blood was a pro.
After that I was starving since I had to fast so my daughter and I went out for breakfast. We haven't done that in a long time and it was so nice to sit, relax and be waited on.
We ran a few errands while out and about and now I'm home and she had a few additional errands she wanted to do but I was just too tired.
So, while I'm waiting for her to get home I figured it was a good time to pop on here and say hi .
Hope everyone had a good weekend, enjoyed Easter if you celebrated and that your Monday is off to a good start.

Happy Monday, Marilyn! You certainly accomplished a lot this morning!
It’s a beautiful sunny day here and the temperatures are climbing into the low 80s - a sign it’s almost time to return north.
I hope you enjoyed your Easter and your family.
Since you mentioned breakfast out with your daughter, I just got hungry. I’m in the shade on our lanai and just saw hubs pull up with groceries, so time for lunch! Enjoy your day

I'm not used to being up so early and out without any coffee
It's been a long time since we had breakfast out and I indulged in pancakes, sausage and hash browns (all unhealthy
) but it was soooo good. Now I'm full and will probably skip lunch so all those calories can be spread across most of the day!

. And I usually don’t have lunch! I can blame you for making me so hungry. We took our granddaughter out to our favorite breakfast place last Tuesday. It just so happens to be directly across the street from where hubs goes for his rehab 3X per week. My favorite is a 5 egg omelet, fried potatoes, and 2 thick slices of bread. Extremely unhealthy, but I had grilled cheese with bacon last week.

@DianneN it's nice to indulge occasionally and I rarely eat that much for breakfast or go out. But, it was fun and delicious so no regrets on my part
Your breakfast would sound really good to me if I liked eggs but I don't
but I'm sure enjoying your "big" breakfast with your granddaughter was extra special. Now, give me a grilled cheese with bacon and I'd be happy to join you

I had bloodwork last week, but they only took 3 vials. It didn't hurt, either.

Some phlebotomists are really good while others poke and prod. Guess we were both lucky to get the ones who knew how to draw blood quick and easy.

Yeah, they sure seem to want a lot of vials of blood don't they? It's weird how errands can really be taxing. Do you think it's age or expenditure?

@Marilynda1225 .......Yes, age brings with it some constraints.

For me it's probably both....old age and expenditure
I can't move as easily as I used to and certainly can't run around like I would like to.

I'm glad you had a good nurse for all the blood she drew on you. I'm glad you and your daughter went out for breakfast. It makes that fast worth it.
I had a quiet Easter. My son and his girlfriend couldn't make it, so we scheduled dinner for next week.

Yes, going out for breakfast was worth having to fast. I was dumb to have scheduled my dr appt for the day after Easter knowing I was going to have to fast for bloodwork. Duh
I'm sure your Easter dinner with your son & his girlfriend will still be special even if its had to be delayed a week,

@Marilynda1225 Yes, it will.
My hospital appointments were also yesterday, but it was the only day they could do both on the same day. I fasted too.

My knee isn't happy with having to bend getting in and out of the car but I take a walker so it's easier to walk once I get where I'm going. I can't walk for long periods of time so my trip to the doctor wasn't bad and I got to sit more than I had to stand or walk. Our errands were quick and easy and have of them I didn't have to get out of the car. Having breakfast out was a "big" treat since I can't even remember the last time we did it.

We really don't celebrate Easter. I worked all day and Monday was just the same.
Tuesday early morning here and it's already very hot at 7 in the morning. It's going to be a hot working day again today.

Sorry that you have to deal with a hot working day. Today we have sun (tues) but our temperatures dropped so it's a bit chilly.

I know what you mean about being served.
I work extra time on Mondays to enjoy a short time on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
My hubs was home today, so he got out some t-bone steaks, started the baked potatoes and set the table before I finished work.
It will be nice to sit down, tired from work, but still able to converse and enjoy his cooking.

It was really nice being able to sit and be served a delicious breakfast. It was such a nice treat after my dr appointment.
I bet your dinner was delicious. I love steak with a baked potato and it was nice your hubby cooked and you got to enjoy dinner after your busy day at work.

Happy Easter!!
5 vials was a "good grief" moment. Guess they tested for everything under the sun
Can't imagine what they would take if I wasn't healthy

I have small veins so sometimes they have trouble with me. But this girl did an excellent job and was quick. I didn't miss those vials of blood just keeping my fingers crossed that everything comes back good. I don't know why it won't be it's always worrisome,
