Funny grandbaby story, or maybe gross would be a better word.

Grandbaby 2, who is now 16 years old, would spend almost every weekend with us. And when he was around 3 I knew his routine. His mama would give him poptarts in the evening and when he was here he expected the same thing. In the mornings, his mama always had chocolate milk, my home was the same. Except one morning I had forgotten to buy milk the evenig before. I knew there was going to be an issue with 2 not having chocolate milk, but I definitely was not expecting how it would play out. 2 and I had woken up Saturday morning and went downstairs. The first 20 minutes or so we always sat in grandpas recliner just gently rocking, trying to wake up. After the 20 minutes 2 turned to me and said, "choc choc" his word for chocolate milk. I told him I was sorry that I had forgotten the milk but as soon as grandpa woke up we would go get some. He fussed at me, thinking, I suppose, that I just didn't want to make his milk so I told him to go look in the refrigerator. which he did. He came back into the family room with his hands on his hips and told me, "We do have milk." I argued with him for a minute, knowing that I hadn't bought milk. Finally I said, "Show me." So into the refrigerator we went. On the second shelf I realized we did have milk but I told 2 that he didn't want that milk (It was buttermilk!) and we began a different argument. He handed me his sippy cup and I finally thought I would just let him find out for himself, so I filled up the sippy cup and was about to put the top back on it when 2 handed me the chocolate syrup. Oh gosh, I wanted to puke. I tried telling 2again that he didn't want that. He wasn't having it. So the chocolate went into the buttermilk and 2 looked so proud of himself. He took his sippy and went back to grandpas recliner. I had to watch this! 2 took a sip and made a face, smacked his lips and took another sip. This time he looked at his cup and then hurled it across the room. I giggled. I knew it wasn't going the way he thought it was going to go. As I said, he's 16 now, and he still won't drink milk when he's over here.

Sometimes kids just have to learn the hard way! That must have been very fun to see.

It was definitely funny to see him take that first drink and smack his lips. That 2nd drink he was like, "Nope, not for me."

That's a funny story. My grandson just turned 18 and he still loves his chocolate milk. I try hard to remember to have it on hand when he comes to visit

I don't see him as often as I used to. My daughter and her family moved to Texas when 2 was in kindergarten. I miss the weekend sleepovers :( And no, he doesn't trust milk at Nana's anymore.
