Good morning, and welcome to the 1956 countdown. Today you’ll hear a song that’ll having you running back to yesterday’s novelty. Actually, today’s song and yesterday’s song were written by the same songwriting team, so you know you’re in for a “treat.” Back 70 years we go to this one. Hot Diggity (Dog Ziggity Boom) - Perry Como Yeah, yeah, I know, cardigan sweaters, easy listening, blah blah blah. But you know that my favorite singer of all time is Jim Reeves, and Perry Como had a similar, beautiful baritone. Even doing silly things like this. If you remember, Como’s “Round and Round’ is on my pop/rock 100 favorites list. So it should be no surprise that he’s highlighted from the apex of his career. Como was not only a great singer, he was a good role model: devoutly devoted to his faith, his wife, and his family, he’s one of the few celebrities from that (or, really, any) era without a scandal attached to his name. I guess that’s why they’ve never made a biopic about him: who wants to see a guy in cardigans going to Mass, staying home with his wife, and singing? (That sadly says a lot about us, and what it takes to entertain us, doesn’t it. ) So if you didn’t get enough silliness from yesterday’s song, here’s the great Perry Como to give you another fill! Hot Diggity (Dog Ziggity Boom) Written by Al Hoffman and Dick Manning Music from Emmanuel Chabrier’s España Recorded by Perry Como Released as a single, 1956 Where have you been all my life:

I loved Perry Como via my father. Listening to that song again gave me goosebumps. So, YES!

I thought it was the Oscar Meyer wiener song. But yes we both knew song. We know who the artist is but didn't know this was him.
