Look Me in the Eye

Tomorrow morning, I am headed to the ophthalmologist (eye doctor). It’s for my autoimmune disorder. You have to see the eye doctor once a year to monitor your retinas from damage a prescribed medication from the rheumatologist might cause. I know, you’re thinking why take something that could cause problems like that. Why? Because it works! This is a medication I can actually say makes me feel better, and the labs echo that.
Unfortunately, I don’t have vision insurance (all ye who look down on those who get government help can rejoice). But they won’t prescribe the medication unless you go, so my poor dad is taking me (I don’t drive to this place; it’s difficult to get around). I actually got to see him today. I think it had been three weeks since I had. Diana sent me home with some delicious roast.
Do you see get your eyes checked? I really hope you do. There are a lot of health problems that can be caught by getting your vision checked. I read too much.

I’m way overdue to get mine checked again. But no vision insurance, just like you. It’s just the way it is. I’m very glad your Dad is taking you. And glad to hear Diana sent you home with roast!! Yum!

I think that you are right in getting your eyes examined, I do annually also.
I think that those that look down on those who are on government assistance should get their own eyes tested and then look into the mirror and try to see straight. There is no need for judgements such as that, everyone is only trying to do the very best that they can.
Good luck at the eye exam, and enjoy the time spent with your dear Dad.

Just now
I get a vision exam once a year and I don't have vision insurance either. Yes, sometimes we have to accept a few side-effects if the medication we're taking does a greater good for another part of our body

I don't really have issues with my eyes but my optician told me to watching bright screen to avoid straining the eyes.
