I don't speak fluent Spanish, I know a little but not enough to communicate precisely. Working as a manager in several places I've had to assist Spanish speaking people and I'm going to tell you that it's hard. However, I'm so glad that we have a translator on our phones now! A few years ago when I ran the front of a grocery store I assisted many women with their WIC benefits when the cashier's were having a problem with communication. Today I used the translator because someone didn't know how to count US dollars, he was going to over pay. I translated how much $50 is and his reaction was Ohhh. There ain't no telling how many people has ripped this young man off. My motto is " I didn't work for, I'm not taking it!" Just help people y'all, teach people, share your knowledge and one day it'll come back to you.

The translation apps weren't very good when I was still working at Wally World. I had one older Latino man who would just start laying money on the counter and trusted me to take the right amount and give him back the rest when he was paying for something.

That's awful to think people have been ripping off someone. I'm just about ready to give up on the human race.

That is so true. Our mother raised us to work for our own money and never rip anybody off.

You did really well. But you are right, wonder how many others have not been as honest with the guy as you are?
