These beautiful vivid flowers are crab apple tree blooms. They look a bit like the cherry blossoms but of a darker hue and shade. These ones are just across the street from me. I always admire how gorgeous they look. Hope these brightens your day!

They're very pretty. Do you ever sneak over and pick a few apples and make anything with them?

Well it isn’t first time in this neighbourhood so not yet . When it turns to apples I just might. I even like the fallen ones.

@flapiz Crab apples are really sour. You have to cook them into jam or jelly so the sugar sweetens the apples.

Those trees are beautiful even if they do not produce edible fruits.

@LadyDuck truly although sadly their blossoms don’t last long specially when there is wind and rain.

That sounds cool and nice! Do these grow in cooler climates? They can brighten anyone's day.

@flapiz Not in sub tropical area with semi deciduous and semi arid vegetation. They grow in areas called Shimla and Kinnaur much north from our place. That is Himalayas with heights starting from 2000 M above the sea level.
