A nice surprise

I haven’t been here in quite a while, there’s been rather a lot going on.
Today I was trying to catch up on some ‘life admin’; this stuff always takes a lot of time so of course I put it off as long as possible. Well I was filing away some papers when I came across a page with a note saying that I had opened a new online savings account in October 2024.
I’m usually pretty good at keeping track of things, but not this time, I had completely forgotten about it and had no other records anywhere else. That’s the snag with online accounts, there are no visible traces.
Once I knew it existed I was able to find the log-in details and had a pleasant surprise to find it had a decent amount of money in it, and had received a nice boost of interest too. So that was the most exciting thing to happen to me today!
What about you?

Very nice! Congrats!
I checked that online site that tells you if you have "missing" money that somebody/the government tried to send you but failed. I have 25 cents if I want to pay 79 cents to have it sent to me.

@fleura That's my kind of surprise. Many years ago I received and unsolicited cheque in the post from HMRC for just over £400, then another for £300 the following day. Greece was promptly visited. Today I filed my self assessment forms with HMRC and the automatic calculation showed that I owe Rachel Reeves £5 to be paid by 31 January 2027.

Congrats on the found money! Nothing going on except doctors' appointments and tests. It's good to see you.

Let's just say "appointments" and leave it at that.

I keep harping at Vince to print things out so I have paper copies.
His reply is that it's all on the phone/computer but it can take him forever to find the information at times so I know what you're saying. I wish we had a bank account we didn't know about.
