The longest closing down sale in history !

We have a store here in the UK called Claire’s. I don’t know who Claire is, or even if she is a real person…..it matters not ! It is an accessories store for young girls….they do ear piercing and sell ( cheap ) items, jewellery, hair bands, etc …. Anyway, many months ago , we heard that Claire’s was going into liquidation. Since then the stores have had huge signs in their windows ….. 50% off 2 4 1 70% off Everything must go ! Closing down Last few items Well, you know the kind of thing. Anyway, despite all these huge reductions and the announcements of closing down, and last few days, the stores are still open. I went in one today and there was loads of stock….the shelves were full. I got the impression that they have done what a lot of these companies do ….announce their closure, then ‘ buy in ‘ items especially for the closing down sale. Crafty move methinks ! They stores will probably still have stock and still be having closing down sales this time next year !
