So there is a great band on at our local pub tonight and we decided to come tonight instead of tomorrow. The Mister chopped some wood to bring as he tends the fire. We were early though as we wanted to make sure we got the settee. So we have got peckish ..... Yes, we have salted and dry roasted peanuts ....trouble is, they make you thirsty ... Do you have snacks when you go to the pub ?

If I did go to a bar, I would eat pretzels.

I haven't been to a bar since my mid-30s. Most of them serve some type of food with the drinks here. I liked getting fresh bowls of pretzels or ordering nachos with beef and cheese melted on them.

@Traceyjayne I never ate peanuts in the bars. You never knew if other people washed their hands after using the bathroom and then got peanuts out of the communal bowl.

I love peanuts when bar hopping with close friends of mine. But these days are all in the past now. I have had peanuts at home as a snack at random lately.

When you go to the bar here, it is usually not allowed to bring food from outside

@rakski ….we didn’t take the peanuts , we bought them there . You can’t generally take your own food or snacks into a pub here either.

I have never been to a pub/bar, but if I had I’d definitely go for the peanuts. Of course, like you said, it makes a person thirsty. I’d be guzzling water like a fiend.

@AmbiePam …..never been to a pub/bar ! Girlie I would change that asap if I were there ….. The ones we go to are where we have food too. The only one without food, just drink is where we go to watch the live band each weekend. We aren’t heavy drinkers ….we go for food and entertainment.

Selling salty snacks at a pub probably helps increase the sale of drinks.

I don't think bars (pubs) here offer nuts or snacks anymore. Especially since COVID they deemed it unsanitary or germ-catching or something. i dunno
