Hot wind.

The wind is blowing warm air in from the south east tonight so I’ve had to open the bedroom window to relieve the heat, otherwise I’d get no sleep. The house is generally overheated now since we had our central heating system flushed out, and even though it’s been switched off for quite a few hours the house is retaining the heat. Outside it’s still up at 9 degrees centigrade - suffocating. The disadvantage of open windows on a windy night is of course the noisy swish of the wind whipping through trees, but at least there’s no sound of traffic or human activity. Do you prefer the boudoir to be hot or cold when you’re trying to sleep?

I can't sleep if it's too hot. If it's cold I can always get an extra blanket.

Who uses blankets these days? Duvets all the way!

@Fleura Actually, I’m thinking of going back to blankets. I have a 10.5 tog duvet, that I use in winter, and a 4.5 tog for summer. Often the 10.5 is too hot, but the 4.5 too cold. I like the idea of a “Chief Joseph’ Indian blanket, but it sounds expensive? I’ll probably check out Primark first.

@Orson_Kart We have a duvet, but we still put a blanket on top if it's cold. Or if one of us is cold. I have loads of wool blankets I inherited. And one special Indian 'Chief Joseph' blanket I brought back from the US. And the girls have a 'thing' for fluffy fleece blankets too.

@Orson_Kart Actually you're right. 9C is a bit cold. It's 15C here at the moment but I'm inside in just a T-shirt.

I’d much prefer it be cold. I can’t fall asleep when it is hot.

It must have cooled as it made its way across the Irish Sea then! Here it wasn’t cold, but certainly wasn’t warm. I like it, like Goldilocks does, just right. Neither hot nor cold.

I prefer it chilly in the house while I sleep. I can pull a sheet or the comforter over me if I get too chilly to be comfortable. It has been storming all night here with cold rain coming down. It is 8 C outside now and my bedroom thermometer is showing 19C. I have a sheet pulled over me right now. I'm surprised Pretty hasn't turned the heat back on yet.

Do you prefer the boudoir to be hot or cold when you’re trying to sleep? Our boudoir is always warm Even in winter. Our wee apartment really does retain heat. No expense was spared when the flat was rebuilt from the outside in. Insulation, lowered ceilings, and gas central heating. I switched the heating off at 9pm 3am and the boudoir is 20C It's too warm

Any season is fine but not extreme.

I don't think it is suffocating at 9 degrees centigrade.

I prefer cold weather since a blanket keeps me warm compared to when it is warm outside.

I need a cool environment for sleeping. I can't sleep if it's too warm or stuffy. I keep a fan blowing on me all night.
