Last night after I watched my beloved Washington Commanders draft a linebacker for this coming season, I watched the series I was Prey. A lady was seriously attacked by a large raccoon.?? I never heard of anything like that. It was a very serious attack and she may have been killed. She said the raccoon was very large 60 pounds. Now things like that are one reason I don't like to go out after dark here. She was terribly afraid of having rabies, but they told her they didn't have rabies in Vancouver BC. ??? that certainly is not normal raccoon behavior. Anyway, she had lived all over the world where wild animals were common, and yet she gets seriously attacked in the burbs of Vancouver BC. Nuts!

Dog attacks definitely more common than raccoon attacks

@snowy22315 - Particularly some breeds of dogs, those who killed were 2 Dogo Argentino. I am sure their owner now will face serious consequences.

That is extremely large for a raccoon.
When I lived in southern IL., there were a ton of raccoons that were masters at getting into chicken coops, etc. A neighbor had raccoons kill a lot of his chickens, so he trapped the raccoons outside of the coop. He was amazed at the size of the largest one, it weighed 45 pounds. Well, it was full of the chickens from the coop...anyway, sometimes they do get very large. But usually they run from people, not attack them. I would have had it tested, too.

I would have insisted. This mad raccoon that attacked the woman is still at large or was then. Not sure when this attack took place

She should have been tested anyway. It said online extremely low, for that area didn't say none.

Raccoons are viscous. They eat meat so years ago we had chickens. One of those cuties got into the coop and started taking apart hens. I went out there with a broom and the raccoon stared at me like he/she wasn't afraid of me. I scooted back to the house.

The raccoon really could have killed her.
