I got confused. We went to Bob's appointment late. Forty five minutes late. I have said before that this Cancer Center has some of the nicest people and they proved it today. They were able to get us in while we were in town.
We got to be told straight from the doctor that there is no leukemia (blood cancer) or pre-leukemia (MDS disease.) That was great. He says the bone marrow fooled him this time.
So evidently there is a hormone your kidneys produce that help your bone marrow make healthy blood, and Bob is low in this. It can be treated.
Once a month, as indicated by labs, Bob is going to be given an injection of this hormone. It seldom if ever has side effects, especially if given in small doses and monitored by blood work. It is also supposed to be good for your kidneys.
While out and about we were also contacted by the agency that is going to determine if Bob gets any disability pay from his time in the service. They set up third party evaluations of your various claims. We are pretty certain he will get disability for his hearing loss. That is the first appointment he will have. It will happen in Wichita, on May 4.
Good but exhausting day.
We ate at a diner for lunch. I can talk about that later.

OH, so thankful that the doctor said there's no indication of leukemia!!
Best of luck with the VA claims. I can tell you from personal experience that it takes considerable patience for those claims.

That is blessed news he doesn't have cancer. Hopefully, with that hormone he will start feeling better. I hope the disability pays as well.

That all sounds great! I hope Bob qualifies for disability and doesn't have any problems getting it.
