Prepping to be away for a couple of months

Once I decided to take this current path it was time to find a facility and get ready to go. The chef at "the usual hangout" went through treatment a couple of years ago and raved about the place so my ex texted him to get the name of the place. After browsing around online a bit we decided to go with the one that the chef attended. I called, got my insurance verified, and scheduled an intake date/time. After that was set up we got to work prepping the apartment for my absence. I did dishes and laundry. He took out garbage, recycles, and cardboard. I arranged it with the downstairs neighbor to watch the cats, get the mail/packages, and water my plants. I packed my bag and then it was just a matter of waiting for a couple of days to be on my way. On the morning I left my ex picked me up. I told him he didn't have to drive me the almost-hour away. He said he wanted to. We actually had breakfast at the diner before we hit the road. Of course I didn't pack enough of the right things. . . but that is a story for another day.
