Strangers using me because of my height. I said no. What would you do?

Maybe that wouldn't be a big deal for you but for me, it was.
I was at the clothes store today and this older lady, in her 60s maybe just looked at me from the small distance and immediatelly asking me can i do something for her and in that fast second or two, i realised she needs something that is too high for her. I instinctively said no and said she should approach the sales lady.
The store wasn't crowded. The face that she made was like i did something wrong to her. Some lady of her own age helped her but, the store has the staff. I saw 2-3 staff members. All in all, not sure if she followed me on purpose and making some strange noise voice after that; i ran at her 2times but i was happy when i left the store.
This wasn't fair, i must say. Making me feel guilty while the store staff was there. I realise people want everything quick but i don't like older women behaving like this. Her approach and everything. I am a helpful person but i don't like to be used by strangers.
Also, i'm not that tall. 1,72 cm but i lost some kilos so i look taller, i think.
This almost ruined my day and i still feel uncomfortable.

Personally, if I can do a favor for a person I am willing to do it. It makes me feel good about myself.

I am very tall, and I get people, mainly older women, asking me to reach things for them that are too high for them to reach. It never bothered me and I was glad to do it, until one day an older lady (like normal) asked me to get her something, I got it, and she didn’t say thank you. She didn’t acknowledge me in any way, just went about her business. That really put me off. Still yet, I’ll help. I would want someone helping me, so I won’t refuse helping someone else.

I'm short. And, I am an older woman. I can never find a clerk or worker in Walmart, Target, or many other stores to reach for something I need. Yes, I have asked strangers--politely, and I always express my thanks. I have never had anyone say no, not ever. I am always glad to help someone if I can. I let people go in front of me all the time in line if they have like one or two items and I have more. If someone doesn't say thank you, maybe they aren't rude--maybe they are troubled or worried about something. Everyone is different. I have to ask people to reach things for me, there is no option. And here in the US, there never seems to be any clerks to help.
