Did you hear the one about the robot flying to San Diego? So apparently a humanoid robot got on the plane in Oakland/ San Franciso airport I believe it was and attempted to fly to San Diego, however, South West airlines refused to fly the robot without removing it's lithium ion battery. Oh what a futuristic world we live in.

This is what the move from fossil fuels to electricity and other renewables is doing. Mind you, the price of fuel will cost more than a lithium battery per gallon very soon. Did South West Airlines think the Robot posed a terrorist threat What sort of appliances can a lithium ion battery be found in What did they do with the battery when they removed it from the robot

I don't know the answers to all those questions. Cellphones use lithium ion batteries to the best of my knowledge, and apparently robots too.

@snowy22315 so I hope airlines ban cell phones I would rather sit next to a robot than someone using a cell phone

Most modern cellphones use lithium ion batteries as well as the laptops and the tablets. I do not believe they stop all passengers having those devices.

One thing the other passengers found it quite entertaining.

I know there is some concern that lithium batteries will explode. I wonder why Bebop was trying to fly.

That would be very funny if it weren't so serious.

Our world is getting nuttier with the use of robots inside of airplanes.

Why would a robot fly? What was the point in that?

I guess it was probably going from one lab to another. Besides I am sure part of it was just seeing if it could

They had to. They can explode, and a big one like in the bottom could probably catch the whole plAne on fire.

Will they have passports in the future? The robots?

Surely the owner of the robot should have known about the airline's battery policy

You're young, I am sure you will. I am old, but even I think I will see one in the not too distant futures.. I have seen them in videos and so forth. I want one to clean my house! It would be worth the investment!
