Sometimes you can't put broken things back together

Here's a funny story from my recent adventures. Literally can't make this stuff up.
So one of the clinical sessions in residential was art therapy. Oh hell. I'd much rather talk about my mommy issues than deal with art.
It must have been my first week or two.
The therapist put out examples of mandalas and told us to draw our own. I don't even know what one is but it is a circular thing. I was pissing and moaning and making everyone laugh as I drew mine. I do not have an artistic bone in my body. I drew like feathers and dice and who knows whatever else. So we finished and she told us that we would talk about them after a break. Great.
Yeah we got back and she told us to rip them up. I was like YES!!!!! and I shredded that thing into like 40 pieces. Then she told us to put them back together. So then I knew what the lesson was supposed to be--some things that are broken can't be put back together. There were a couple of people who took pride in their work and refused to tear their mandalas up. Others just tore them in half or in quarters. Me? Nope. I gleefully ripped it up and then my head about exploded trying to get it back together. Somehow I even lost pieces in the process.
I texted my ex about it because I knew it would amuse him. He said he'd hang it on the fridge. I showed it to him when he dropped me off here. He laughed. Then we were busy talking and he didn't take it with him. I was fine with that and put it on my fridge.
He texted me later that he was upset that he forgot to bring the mandala home. I replied that I thought he just didn't want it. He said "nope I want it". Oh well. I guess it is a reminder of our 23 year long journey together. Wow. I cannot even believe its been that long.
So my beautiful piece of artwork is here waiting for his next visit. I have other silly art stuff that I made on my spa trip. I'll have to write about them in the future. More funny stuff. Damn I don't even try to be a comedian.

For not wanting to do it, it looks acceptable. Before it got torn up. I like the color.

You deliberately put it back together wrong, didn't you? Messing with the therapist...

It's nice that your ex wants the mandala.
