Good morning 5/12

Coffee is brewing in the kitchen. I always look forward to that little "perk" of the morning, pun intended. Anyway, yesterday I was celebrating my new/old oven. I made some lower calories brownies with a can of diet soda, instead of the eggs and oil. Also, they didn't need it, but I did put some zero sugar icing on them..since I had half a can in the pantry. I put some walnuts on top to make them a bit healthier. Good stuff. Today I will make a low carb Reuben casserole. It is great to have the oven back, although I will probably only be able to use it for another month or so. Typically in the summer, it is just too hot to use the oven. Anyway, what are you celebrating?

I'm celebrating getting a little closer to settling the houses. We're having a yard sale Saturday with the hopes I'll make enough to do pop's floor. It's a long shot but maybe...hopefully lol.

You never know. I would like to have a yard sale, although honestly I am pretty far off the main road. It would be better if the whole community did it, and people would have a reason to drive through here.

@JordanLader Yeah, the more convenient the better. Son is going to try to sell some of my stuff in his area on FB marketplace though to give it a bigger market. I used to sell stuff locally here, but lately I haven't been able to post stuff.

@snowy22315 Same here but I'm hoping with having it at Grams it might be a little different. It's on a more "main" road and there's space. Plus I have an asphalt drive way so I don't have to worry about the holes in the yard or the bugs and dew in the grass.
Fingers crossed this is a good change.

Yay, maybe you need some no doze..I would be annoyed if I slept all day too as well as frustrated and concerned.

I'm enjoying my coffee and the sunshine. My day is off to a good start even though there's nothing exciting going on.
I like your idea of the diet soda brownies. Did you use a brownie mix or create them from scratch?

@snowy22315 I'm more of a mix person so that would work for me. I don't bake very often anymore so I don't have a pantry full of baking ingredients.

We have made cakes with the diet soda, it does cut down on the calories for sure. I don't use many mixes, but I do make this at times. I've never done brownies. I mentioned I was going to try it once, but the kids nixed that idea--I was sweetly told not to mess with my brownies and make them the way I always make them, so I think that was decided for me, haha.
No celebrations planned here for today. But that's ok, as long as it's calm, I can live without excitement.
