Either the universe, or Bob's body, or God.
We got to Newton, got Bob checked in. Beth came to visit. And they drew blood for labs, took vitals, and we waited.
Pretty soon the APRN that works with the doctor came.It was 2:30, go time, except it was not.
She said Bob's hemoglobin was a little on the low side. So was his kidney function. Funny thing. His primary had called, while I was checking him in, wanting to know if he had med changes, because his kidney function was low in the labs we drew yesterday. If they had drawn the hemoglobin yesterday, we would have known, and saved a trip. They did not check it until we were there and checked in.

We had labs locally the day before, but the cardiologist did not ask for a reading on the hemoglobin. We had the labs also sent to the primary care, even though she did not order them, and she called me while I was checking him in to the hospital to discuss his kidney function, but could not tell me about the hemoglobin. The last she checked it was a bit higher than it was when they drew blood right before the procedure.

It is mainly a diagnostic procedure, and we are beginning to wonder if it will benefit him at all.

We have had at least three appointments per week for the last four weeks. One or two for me. One or two for evaluating his physical needs, some routinely scheduled and a lot of follow up from the situation last month.

No, that is typical, one hand does not know what the other is doing, and sometimes the ones in charge skip a crucial step.

I’m at the point in life where I don’t ever argue about “roadblocks” thrown in my way anymore. All the times I look back at them and realize it was God protecting me from something.
Anyway, I hope they can get everything sorted out that he needs! Praying for you both!

He ordered blood work that was done the day before, but did not check the iron levels.
