Good afternoon myLot

Hello everyone. I hope your day is going well. It is 72 degrees F, sunny, and breezy here at the Jersey Shore. Top down weather for sure! 
Today was my first day back at work. I don't think I got more than an hour of sleep total last n ight. It was awful and made worse by a pretty bad headache. With my GI issues I can't take aspirin, Tylenol, ibuprofen, Aleve, etc. It was rough getting through the day when I haven't been getting up so early (or getting no sleep in general).
The students and my coworkers were happy to see me. I didn't realize that so many staff members knew I had been out for an extended time. A good friend who covered one of my classes had me to go her room during that usual time. She had snacks, a peace lily, and a frame. The class has only 7 students and they are funny. I call them The Breakfast Club. She laughed a couple of weeks ago when I told her that. Soooooo we watched the beginning of the movie today. I told them to try to figure out which character they are. 
Anyway I made it through the day. I was teaching about blood typing genetics. The kids were interested. I was enthusiastic. It reminded me of back in the day when I enjoyed going to work. I figure that will last until like Tuesday. 
I am still slowly but surely catching up on things around here. Normally I'd be beating myself up that it isn't done (not that I'd be in any more of a rush to do it). I refuse to do that this week though. It will get done when it gets done. I've learned the value of self-care and being kind to myself.
What's everyone else up to this afternoon?

I was wondering how your first day back went, Just give it one day at a time, How's the cat crew? Happy all is back to normal? DId quite a lot of posting this afternoon and then I just start writing up all over again,

I hope your headache is gone and you are sleeping better. I'm glad your first day back went well. The stuff that needs to get done will still be there tomorrow! lol
Today is my X-ray and urologist appointment. I just hope she doesn't schedule surgery right away.

I am sorry you had to take on your first day back to work on little sleep with a headache...that part wasn't good. I am happy to hear you were missed, and that your time went fairly well. It won't be long before you will be done with this school year and floating in the pool. Just rest when you can and hopefully tomorrow you will not have that headache!!
