Got my contract for next year!

This is the time of year when district employees anticipate receiving the contracts for the upcoming school year. Last year it was delayed due to a ratification vote. This year they are right on time. Next year will be my 25th year of teaching in the district. It is crazy to think that it has been that long. For decades my work BFF and I have cheered moving from one $10K level to another. We'd be like "I got a 6!" or "I've finally reached an 8!" I thought for sure next year's contract would push me into the next category. Nope. I'm *almost* there. I text a pic of the online document to my ex and said "almost there". He knew what I meant. His response was "you're $830 away. You'll easily make that up in coverages and tutoring." He's not wrong. Love getting the upcoming contracts.
