We use a website called free cycle. You can post if you are looking for something or giving something away. Nothing is to be sold. It’s got to be free. The Mister has been looking for some slabs for the garden . I asked during the week on the free cycle site and a chap has offer 8 slabs. That’s a great result. The Mister is just making room in the van and then we will be off to collect them. Do you have sites like that in your area ? Do you use these sites ?

That sounds good! I hope the slabs work well in your garden. Freecycle is an American based app. NextDoor also has listings for $0 items but all I've ever seen there for free is somebody always quoting Bible verses. Trash Nothing is supposed to be like Freecycle. I've only looked on NextDoor and then deleted the app after a few months. It was worthless to me.

Many of our suburbs and towns have FB sites like this. It's amazing what you can find.

At one time, Freecycle used to be very popular here. A friend of mine had started up a Freecycle group in the area I lived in, he moved away and got too busy so I ran the group for some time, which wasn't difficult. But when Facebook groups really took off, Freecycle went way, way downhill here and now it's just not really popular anymore. There is a nationwide thing called BuyNothing that works off of Facebook and has groups for each area. No money can be exchanged, it is a place you can offer things you don't want, or ask for something you might need. I have used it a few times, especially when I had to get rid of something that was just too big to haul. Another time I answered a post and got some free garden plants. Good groups.

@Traceyjayne I love the BuyNothing groups now, they stress being respectful and that no money is ever to be exchanged. A good way to give away, to find something you might need, and to promote the ''reduce, reuse, recycle'' thing.
