Pets can be so funny sometimes. Nico took a few pieces of food out of his dish brought them over to a piece of cardboard on the floor and ate them off of that... It was so silly. I have also seen him take some pieces of food, and dunk them in water, and then consume. He reminds me a bit of my former dog who used to always insist on having a carpet or rug to stand on when he ate. Apparently the bare floor was too cold for Mr. Prima Donna.

Cats always make me laugh, they are so funny. The orange cat of my neighbors wanted a rug under his bowl of food, he did not eat if it was on the floor.

I love that. My dog, Leno, used to leave one piece of dog food in the middle of the kitchen when he was done eating. Everything was gone, but that one rogue piece.

Once upon a time it was considered good manners to leave a little on the plate.

Our dogs always did that, so does Ellie, our son's dog. Maybe that is like doggie take out.

@Juliaacv She had it all figured out! Beau hid all his bones in the house..I would find them in odd places..in the bed under laundry..in a shoe etc.

@snowy22315 After work my hubs would get out 2 doggie biscuits and give Nayla one, and she would bring it down the hallway to our son's room, move the pillow, and place it there, and then move the pillow back. Then she would proceed back to the kitchen because she knew that Dad took out 2 cookies and he would still be holding one, so she would take that one and eat it, and have a spare for later. Of course she did this during her last few years, after Jonathon had moved away to university. She was such a funny dog.

When I give Kitty dry food, she sometimes sits atop my guitar amplifier and stares at it. I remind her that wet food comes later in the day.

My cat won't eat dry unless he is fairly hungry.

@snowy22315 Maybe some of our little marsupials do it but I haven't heard of it. It was raccoons I was thinking of.

My dog does the same, if he really likes something in his food bowl, he will take it to his dog bed and eat it there lol

We had a west highland white terrier and he would only eat his food out of our hands …. We put it down at tea time every day and it would still be there at bedtime …he played with three biscuits …us putting them down with him and us pretending to get them …he ate them when he had enough of the game …and then would eat his food from our hands …..

Of course they probably think we have quirks too! Half the time I imagine my cat is thinking What the heck is she doing now?
