Only Four Days Left?

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
It is crazy to think that there are only 4 days left in the school year at this point. There was supposed to be 5 days, but because all the schools in the district improved in the state tests they were rewarded with no school on the final day. So instead of next Thursday, their last day will be next Wednesday. So two more days this week, and then just two days next week.
Today the kids all get their yearbooks (that bought them) so it will be fun to see that. I wonder if Eli will have his friends sign his yearbook. That was always the fun part, unless you were unpopular like me lol.
Grades wise - I think Eli will mostly have A's - just not in science and then he may fail English still. Doesn't mean he won't pass 6th grade, just will have to retake it before moving on to high school.
Just thought I would share the good news about them earning the reward of getting out of school a day early, that was pretty cool. What do you think?

Your school year finishes quite early
Our kids are off for six weeks but not until mid June or maybe later

They only get 6 weeks? Here it is a little over 2 months. They'll go back mid to later August.

They get out of school really early. I'm glad Eli will get mostly As. That's really nice that they will get out of school a day early.

@LindaOHio That is late, did school start later then? Always was late August; now it is closer to mid August.

Not really, when I was going to school we got out mid-may at the latest.
But yes that is good. Just wish he could have brought his ELA grade up to at least pass.

In my area kids can take summer school and get credits so they can move on to the next grade.

Well summer school would be the norm yes, but they stopped that here apparently.

That’s an early finish to the school ‘year’! Here they finish mid-July and go back at the beginning of September. How do you keep him entertained? Is there a summer school, or camp you can send him to?

That's the norm here, mid to end of May. Sometimes first week of June even. But that is a short break there for summer. No summer school. He wouldn't want to go to a camp, it'd be too expensive anyway.
He would love to just play video games all summer, but that will not be happening

Yes it is. Eli did good on his tests for the most part too. Just wish he would have been able to bring up his grade.

And what plans does Eli have for the summer? Maybe he can follow in mom and dad's footsteps and do creative things during the summer,

He'd probably love to just play video games all summer.
