Or at least, our garden has.
A pair of mallard ducks has taken a liking to our garden pond!
Last year I did see a pair of ducks visit once or twice, but they didn’t stick around. But this year a pair – maybe the same ones – has decided they like this spot.
Last week I saw them here a few times, coming and going to paddle about on the pond; one day they almost grazed my head flying over as I was hanging out the washing.
One morning I awoke to the sound of quiet quacking and gentle scrunching of gravel. The two of them were walking on the path below the bedroom window, the female ahead and looking here and there for interesting things and the male behind keeping an eye out on everything around. For all the world they looked like a human couple window shopping
It would be nice if they stick around. Ducks allegedly enjoy eating slugs, which would be very useful. On the other hand they also like lettuce so maybe that wouldn’t be quite so good.

That is so cool. We had a pair of male mallards for about a year. They were a delight. Two distinct personalities. One flew over the house and quacked at my husband as he flew off to parts unknown.

That would be nice if they stick around for you. I use to have chickens, ducks, turkeys, and peacocks. I loved watching them every day. Its kind of relaxing watching them. Have you tried to feed them? I wouldnt try to get to close to them. But if you try to feed them they might stick around, just a thought it might work. Good luck.

It'll be nice if they do stick around and take care of the slugs.
