I found out one of my credit cards is charging me no interest. Wow, I signed up for this card going on two years ago. It has been more than 20 months. Their interest free status was supposed to be for the first 15. I was shocked to see that they are still charging no interest on my balance. I was thinking of transferring this card over to my new travel rewards card..but maybe I will just keep it. There would be no advantage to transferring really..and could be a disadvantage because you usually have to pay 3 percent when you transfer. I don't have a lot charged on this card but I would have to pay something. The only disadvantage to keeping it is having to remember to pay two cards..but I am pretty good with remembering things like that. I don't usually need reminders. If you use credit cards, how much interest do you pay?

I do not have any credit cards as I kind of messed that up when I was younger. BUT I do know that no interest is amazing that is for sure. I believe that I would keep that one for sure with them not charging you any interest. Only bad thing is if you actually go to using it more and then they hit you hard with a really high interest rate I would keep and eye on that just to be sure and shut it down as soon as you notice it. I kind of fell like with the way things are these days that might be what they plan on doing to you. They make it look so great until they think your not looking and whats the saying "slap you in the face" with the small fine print. Good luck with it.

Actually, I just checked on this card the zero interest is only good for 21 months, and I am about that threshold. I may call them though and see if they will extend it to 24. They said sometimes they do that. If you haven't had a card for awhile, and you pay your bills on time, you could probably easily get a card now.

@snowy22315 Oh yeah I would call and you said that you do no use that card very often so I would mention that as well and tell them that with you not using it that much you would really appreciate the extra months.
I have tried to get a card in the last year but apparently I do not have any credit now and no one wants to give me a card because of that. I even tried to take out a loan and they wouldnt give me the loan either that is how I found out that I had no credit anymore. I was only wanting to get the card or the loan to try and build my credit so that I could try in the next few years to get a better home. I just have to have the time to research small things to build my credit and go from there.

@Jdaw1985 You need to get a secured card. They are available to almost anybody. You might need a small deposit..but you can rebuild your credit from there.

It must be some hilarious glitch in their system, and they haven’t yet caught on that your free interest period has expired. For now, it’s like you’ve stumbled upon a secret treasure chest in the middle of a bank, so enjoy the spoils while you can! Until they snap out of their blissful ignorance and start slapping on those interest charges, make the most of this accidental generosity—and maybe light a candle or perform a rain dance to keep their attention elsewhere for as long as humanly possible.

Well actually I checked on it. Says no interest for 21 months. I think I will call them next week and see if they will extend that a bit.

Having a no interest credit card is like wow especially in this day and age when interest rates are high.

They have come down some I think. My other card the new one has no interest for a certain period of time too, but I forgot what it is.

We pay off our balances each month. Not sure what the interest rate would have been.
