They're Back

Five years ago our city revived an activity that was popular in the 70.s and maybe before. It is a motorcycle Grand Prix where they race through town and outside of town through the hills etc.
Across the street from my house is a field that used to be a football field. The city rents camping spaces for the Memorial Day Weekend festivities. They provide trash dumpsters, porta potties, and cold running water.
The campers started arriving here yesterday.
They come with pets, and kids, and bicycles and of course motorcycles. Camping gear from primitive to modern. I think they have a lot of fun.

I hope they're good neighbors while they're there. I leave town for the Kentucky Derby because it's just too wild for me, and it's not even "right across the street" from my house!

I think we have a little bit of rowdy this year, and honestly I feel a bit trapped in my house. Bob says a guy "flashed" yesterday. I did not see it. I am sure I did not miss much.

I hope the local eco ony gets a boost

No, I will not go down to the race, I will likely be at church. On the other hand watching all that goes on in front of my house is quite entertaining.

Not really disruptive. It is a bit off, and I stay inside most of the time for it. My mail box is over on the other side. I need to go out and check my mail.

They do have a good time and this is good for the community. Our Veterans' organizations also do services and flag raisings, etc. at four cemetaries. Our other big day here or big weekend, is Labor Day.

It is fun to see the kids outside and interacting with adults and soaking up the fresh air. Bikes are neat to watch as well. As I type I see someone on a unicycle, I believe.

Yes it is. I see all ages out there and quite a few pets. My cats are staying inside.

Yes, they do. First Sunday of every month our town has a bike rally. Another nearby town has a monthly car show.

It is not bad at all here at the camping area. I am sure they get noisy at the races.
