The marble capital of the Philippines is Romblon, a place known for its beautiful marble products and skilled craftsmanship. Years ago, I had the chance to visit the Tablas islands, and I remember seeing different marble items being sold everywhere. From tables to small souvenirs, the artistry of the locals was truly impressive.
One thing that reminds me of Romblon is the marble mortar and pestle that I bought for my grandma. It was simple but very sturdy, elegant, and very heavy. I thought it would be useful in the kitchen and at the same time a nice remembrance from the trip. Until now, I still remember that purchase whenever I think about Romblon and its famous marble industry.

Souvenirs are good for that. I have a marble mortar and pestle. I don't remember where it came from.

Wonderful. Themarble capital of India is Kishangarh, a town in our western state Rajasthan. I've never been there.

I’ve never been to that place either, and I’m just as curious as you once were. I like marble products too, since they’re strong and durable enough to last a long time. What makes them less appealing, though, is their heavy weight, which makes them difficult to carry while traveling. Still, if it’s truly worth it and you can manage to bring it along, why not?

That's nice, it's still there, the marble mortar?
