Have you ever made your own sushi?

I decided to give it a try for dinner last night. I was so nervous at first, especially when preparing the rice! I rinsed it several times and cooked it on low heat until it was perfect for shaping. We had a lot of ripe avocados on hand, so I used those for the filling. The sushi actually turned out delicious, and my husband even asked when we can have it again. I was so happy I pulled it off, even if it didn't quite look like the picture-perfect sushi you get at a restaurant. I’m pretty sure a real sushi chef would faint looking at mine, but we loved it!

No. I don't know how to cook it. I can cook a few simple dishes only -rice, lentils and some green vegetables.

@Shasha_ I have learned cooking recently. Two months ago I didn't know how to cook. My mother and my wife taught me the skill.

@Shivram59 That is wonderful progress for just two months! It is truly special that you shared that bonding experience with your mother and your wife. You now have a gift that will serve you and your family for a lifetime.

@valherma00 That is completely understandable! Making sushi at home is a fun adventure, but raw fish definitely isn't for everyone.
