I know the weather people said it was going to be hot .... But, crikey ....this is the UK ....we simply don't have this weather here. Certainly not in May.
So I didn't get much sleep last night ...still coughing a lot ....and today I was too hot to sleep.
I am absolutely melting here ....
Goodness knows what it will be like in the actual Summer.
What tips do you have for keeping cool ?

I keep my water in the freezer until it gets ice crystals, and then I drink out of it as the day goes onward. I also get a cloth, soak it with water, wring it out a bit, and then leave it on the back of my neck. And even with the AC on, I run my fans so the AC won’t have to go full blast.
August is the worst month for us in Oklahoma. We once had ten days of 110+ F (43 C) heat in August. But May has been hot and muggy. Thankfully, the tornadoes have been fewer this time of year than normal.

I usually take a shower two to three times a day especially during summer.
I also keep myself hydrated.

We are finally having hot weather this week. Seems like we skipped spring and went straight to summer.

We turned our a/c on today because of the heat.
Otherwise I try to cut down on my caffeine intake and drink more cold, ice water.
I also try to eat more fresh fruits for their cooling effect, keep the blinds and window dressings drawn to keep the sun out. I find these things help-I hope that they help you.

I am drinking lots of cold drinks and have curtains closed. We don't have AC in this country in regular homes.

@traceyjayne My tip is to come to Ireland. We’re just in the high teens and we intend staying there. No need for all those extra degrees. On our holiday in France the temps were 15-19 degrees, sometimes calling for a heavy coat, then on the last day it rocketed to 32 degrees.

Oh it will change ....we don't get much hot weather here, which is why we can't cope with it.

@Traceyjayne I think they're in Somerset. She's an online friend who writes and I edit/suggest a few things from time to time. We're gradually learning more about each other.

Turn on the AC. I finally turned mine on. I'm sorry you're still not well. Try and get some rest.

We don't have AC in this country ....only in shops and businesses, not in regular homes
