Big Cities

I live in the 3rd largest city in Oklahoma, although I am in the suburbs. It’s a good city to live in, but of course low income apartments are never going to be nice. I know they are better than the apartments I would have had to live in if they were where I grew up. So, that’s a positive. Do you live in a larger city, or a small one?

Louisville is a mid-sized city, but it’s the biggest city in Kentucky.

Fewer than 400 people in my town. Nearest "bigger" towns are about twelve minutes away. Wichita is I believe the largest city in Kansas and it is an hour away. However there are income controlled apartments just a few blocks from me. I do not know if they are for handicapped, elderly, low income or what. My sister would not check them out because we were so far from her doctors and we had no public transportation.

As you know, I live in Bonnieville, but urban areas are not too far away.

@AmbiePam I live in a town whose population is 19,000. I dislike it but it has affordable housing and my wife loves it so here I will stay. I miss the buzz of big cities.

I wish you could live in the low income apt that my Mom did when she was in her 80;s. The town I am in is comfortable for me. It has about 20 to 30 thousand people and a close town similar in size next door. Plus all the rural folks.

It sounds like you live in a wonderful place, and I wish it were like that here too.

I live in a large city of just over half a million. There are not many geared to income housing units in our city. And sadly enough, that is why people become homeless as there is no middle of the road. Even in smaller cities in our region, there are few, if any, housing for low income renters. I cannot understand the logic behind it, because if you were to purchase a home, there are homes in all price ranges.

I llive in a suburb in our capital but as capitals go I don't think Perth is all that big. It sprawls out along the coast.

Lake Charles is considered a small town in Louisiana compared to New Orleans.
