Can I reconstruct it?

Last night around 9 p.m. or just before, thunder and lightning exploded my discussion. I am not sure I can reconstruct the whole thing.
The man who is doing my plumbing does that as a side gig. He works seven days a week between his full time job and farming and the side gig of electrical, plumbing and appliance repair. I was waiting on him most of yesterday, and so stayed home. When he was ready to come to my house he got himself stuck in the mud feeding the cattle. He did get here but had forgotten some things, etc. He will be back this afternoon, Sunday.
We have had rain off and on for several days it seems. In between time I have tried to get some things done, and succeeded.
I took out all the trash, and pushed the bin to the curb. When I would go out to do that I would pull weeds for a while. Because everything went to seed in my back yard last year I have an abundant crop of wild carrot and wild prickly lettuce. (Looks like a thistle to me) Especially in the one flower bed I try to maintain.
I had noticed some of my perennials had not come back. Well I found them, struggling, when I pulled out the weeds.
In addition to that I planted all the plants (not very many) I have bought this spring.
That was the gist of my disappeared discussion. The internet is back up this morning. We had thunder all night, some of it sounded close. It is cloudy and overcast today.
It is still a good day. The last day of May.

Poor guy. Sounds like he leads quite a chaotic life.
Weeds sure can really play havoc with gardens.

His goal is to be able to retire from the full time job before he is much older.

I never heard of prickly lettuce. Why do they call it that? Do you use it like regular iceberg?

We did get the things done.
It does seem like there is always more.
