They just amaze me.

I talked about this a couple of years ago, and I’m bringing it up now because they showed new heights of caring. You might remember, a local church has a ministry called Peanut Butter and Jesus. They go around to my low income apartment complex and knock on doors, handing out sack lunches to whomever wants one. Inside the sack is a peanut butter sandwich, and two things like a granola bar and fruit roll up. To drink they usually have a Capri Sun. Of course, they have a small track telling of Jesus too.
I don’t always take a sack lunch when they come by, but after my fridge situation recently, I knew I could use the sandwich. I noticed though, that the sack was heavier than normal. I peeked inside, and found out why. A big tube of sunscreen. And not the generic kind, which would be thoughtful enough; a reputable brand known to work. And I admit, I got a little teary. These people care. They show the love of Jesus, they don’t judge. It gets HOT in Oklahoma. They cared enough to think about that.
Anyway, I just wanted to share. Things like this are worth mentioning.

People who give like this are such a blessing, and I am so glad you were blessed by them!!
Remember my nutty neighbor who buys tons of stuff and sometimes gives it away? She has been gone a lot taking care of a family member, so I hardly ever see her. I do her mail pickup when she’s gone and keep it for her until she returns. She came home for a day and flew around like a whirlwind, came by to pick up her mail, and brought us a small roast, along with delicious fresh pears and fresh potatoes. She hadn’t been home for two months! And she on her way back to do her caregiving. It was such a treat, and so much appreciated.

As usual with her, she said she bought the food thinking she would be here for a few days to eat it...but then she decided she had better go back. She usually doesn't give stuff away unless she has done one of those things where she bought like 50 of something ridiculous...but she hasn't been around to do that. It was a great treat!

That is such a thoughtful thing to do. They are very caring people. It’s good to know that there are still good people in the world.
