An anchor chain recycled as a foot rest

Here is another photo from the evening we spent sampling wines and listening to classical music.
Years ago, bars had a footrest against the bar where patrons could rest one foot or the other. This bar has a heavy chain as a footrest but it suits the décor very well. It’s an old anchor chain and much of the timber in the room has been recycled from an old jetty.

@JudyEv — doesn’t matter, my ship was what we call the USS Neversails (never sails, as in a mockup but not a real ship).
The only Navy vessels I went on were a British destroyer, the USS John F. Kennedy (my brother’s ship, and for a tour), and the ships that are museums now.

Most of the recycling stuff has come from an old jetty. The place is called Chalet Rigi. Years ago, we went there and the entertainment was people playing Alpine horns. The place has been closed for a while but will open in a few weeks
