I changed my menu and it worked

So a few months ago , my sister told me I was looking too lean even though I never skipped meals... I wasn’t happy about it, so I changed my menu.
I stopped snacking in the afternoon and replaced it with beans & potato. I also stopped eating fufu 4 times a week and switched to eba...wierd right?
Just one month later, people started saying I’ve gained weight...I was surprised . I asked an AI to break it down for me, and the explanation was so simple:
It’s not really about the type of food, it’s about calories.yes..you heard me .. calories
Fufu and snacks are low in calories. Eba, beans and potato are high in calories. So I was quietly consuming way more calories than my body needed... the excess got stored as fat...hence, the weight gain
I learned that when you consume less calories than your body needs, you burn stored fat and lose weight. When you consume more, the extra is stored as fat and you gain weight.
Simple as that...I gambled and it worked. I never knew eba, potato and bean contain a high amount of calories
Now I’m just trying to eat in a way that I look healthy.. not too thin, not too fat. Just normal.

Yes. There are a lot of foods that look high in colories, but hold very to no nutritional value and they call them empty colories. You just need to eat in a way that makes you feel good.

@Wrexxo I know to many people who stress over colorie count and what is or isn't healthy, they forget to live life and are comfortable.

You seem to have found a solution and can now use it as a guideline for not gaining or losing so you stay healthy. Sometimes it's just simple changes that make a big difference,

Feeling healthy, energetic, and comfortable in your body matters too.

I lost 60 pounds, definitely necessary, and it’s helped my health tremendously. Glad you’ve found the “middle ground” so you can maintain a good weight for you.
