The photo is another one from the display which is in our clubhouse. It has nothing to do with the discussion.
I am in a group of four who play Wordle each morning and share our results on WhatsApp. One of the group has been on a trip which included a cruise from Sydney to Hawaii. She was able to do her Wordle each day but sometimes she was a good few hours behind but at other times much nearer our local time.
Vince was keeping track of her ship with some app that he has and said the vessel seemed to be crossing back and forth over the date line. I'm glad we figured it out. It had us baffled for a while.

Lovely pieces in the photo. Interesting about the tracking app.

I've never played Wordle, but I'm glad your friend who can keep playing while on the cruise. And the good thing about her crossing the International Date Line is that you can advise her what's going to happen tomorrow!!

Since the route from Sydney to Hawaii crosses a huge stretch of the Pacific, your friend may have experienced different time zones plus the date line effect. That could definitely explain why sometimes she was hours behind your Wordle group and other times much closer to your local time.
