So will maintenance finally show up today?

Well I don't gamble in general but if I had to bet my money would be on NO. I called A WEEK AGO about the dishwasher leaking yet again. . . and I don't mean some minor leak. I followed up with a call on Friday to see if anyone had come or was coming since the weekend was approaching. The management lady claimed she had no idea and said that the guys were busy since the new guy quit. Okay so the head guy retired months ago and the new guy quit so that leaves. . . I can only think of one person. Really? 1 person for multiple buildings in 2 complexes? Aside from the dishwasher there is a cabinet shelf that has fallen, the kitchen light is flickering enough to give me a seizure, and random screws have come out of the toilet. None of it is a true emergency but it is pretty galling that no one has showed up after over a week.

I think every single apartment complex/condo everywhere in my area has a maintenance problem. They can't find them to even hire, and they can't seem to keep them, either. We were so blessed for a long time here, the first seven or so years I was here, we had the same fellow and he was reliable and great. But he had to retire to care for his wife who is very ill. After a series of people they hired that didn't work out, they finally got a young man who really knew his stuff and he was great. He stayed for three years, and OH, we miss him. We haven't had anyone at all for several months. The company has farmed out repairs, etc. to various businesses but that's not practical. They hired a new guy this week, I hope he works out and I hope he stays awhile. Actually, the dishwasher leaking that badly is an emergency. It's going to eventually leak through the floor and cause a ton of damage. Call your local Code Enforcement if you can't get any action. When they call the complex, trust me...things will happen. I had to do that once during the time we had no maintenance at all, long story but we had to have some attention and we weren't getting any. Code enforcement is there for a reason. Oh, and they will keep your complaints anonymous if you ask them to.

That would really be getting annoying by now.
