Lake Anna the area I live in is very large and usually has about 3 or 4 drownings per year. There has already been one this year so that makes 2 now. Surprisingly it was at the state park which is guarded, but I don't think the guards are always on duty. The man was found unresponsive in 10 feet of water..RIP.

Oh how sad. There have been a spare of drownings here in the UK this year. I think the hot weather meant people were just jumping into water which was still very cold Not very sensible

This guy must have gone in the water when no lifeguard was on duty.

@Ineeddentures True that

@snowy22315 Might have been a different outcome if a lifeguard had been on duty, but maybe not

Sadly every year the lake Como has several drownings, last year I think 12 people. It's a very deep lake and too many people do not understand that a lake is dangerous.

Yes, they have closed the beach there. I hope that is not a permanent thing.

That's so sad to hear. On our news the other day there was a drowning of a 14 yr old at the Jersey shore. He was on a school trip.

The lake is too big to monitor. People have to use good judgment with water activities.

My goodness. This is so sad. I hope people after the last incident can be more aware that the lake needs more supervisions.
