I never thought I would say this But this wi fi we got Is indeed better than the hotspot from the phone for working the smart TV It's faster on the phone than mobile data is And it's unlimited And only £16 per month The phone internet is quite fast The hotspot quite good and served us well for a decade Yay for broadband a router and WiFi

That sounds like a wonderful deal. I pay $30 a month for internet & wifi, the phone is $23 a month but I only get 1 gig of data with that plan.

Recently there was a power outage here and I was very happy that my phone had internet access, not that I used it that much but still @Ineeddentures

@rebelann I think that is one of the reasons we both kept unlimited data package also. You just never know when there will be a power out

@Ineeddentures - In Switzerland we had Wi-Fi from a very long time. We immediately had Wi-Fi when we moved here on February 2025.

@LadyDuck Well we used our hotspots from our unlimited data plans on our phones for 10 years Anna Now we don't use a lot of data on our phones at all but we keep unlimited plans for going on holiday is we need it

Have you had it for a long time Anna? Our WiFi is just the basic unlimited not fibre optic ordinary broadband but we get about 40 mb/s which serves us well for what we do with it.

We have come to rely & depend on wifi for so many things. Even the washing machine & Tumble dryer can be connected to wifi. Oh lord we are becoming so dependent on wifi!
