I just had this weird thought. Please excuse me for being a Debbie downer but here it is-- i just realized all my friends are either dead or on the internet. I have made some really good friends on here and a few other sites that I've been on in the past 25 years or so. I actually have online friends all over the country. But, also, my BFF died in 2023 and those kind of friendships don't come along very often. I had known her since I was 15 and I'm 74 now. A long time.

I wouldn't say that you're a Debbie Downer as I feel the same way a good deal of the time. I have two really good friends but neither live close enough to visit so we keep in touch via online or a phone chat. Otherwise my friends are here at myLot and some I've been talking to for many, many years.

I don't think you are being a Debbie downer at all. So many friends we lose both personally & professionally. It is a bitter pill to swallow. I try to remember each & every one of them with kindness & remember the good times we have had over the years. We have lost many friends from mylot too but life goes on & I am grateful to having had each & everyone of them in my life if even just on line!

It is understandable to feel the way that you do …… It is incredibly hard when we lose loved ones …..to know that what we had will never come back. However, although your circle of ‘ in person ‘ friends has got smaller. Your online family is growing and is world wide ….How exciting is that ….

I have two friends. One lives in MN; and one lives in London. All the rest are online. I am very lucky to have them though.

It's sad when we reach a certain age and people around us dying one by one. It can be depressing. And I do understand you even though I'm not yet there.

My Mum lived to 104 so by that time she didn't have any friends of her age group left.
