When is your ideal time to take vacation?

Most of you guys probably remember I do terribly in hot weather, and I strongly dislike summer. Growing up, our vacations were always in July, which was terrible to me, but coincided with a yearly conference my dad had to attend, and we would just go to whatever was around the place of the conference. When the conference was in Florida, we went to Disney World. I remember melting. This year our family cruise is in October. It will still be hot in Oklahoma in October, but in Canada it will definitely be cooled down. That or January is my ideal time to go on a vacation. What do you think?

I don't mind any time of the year to be honest. I hate it when there is too much humidity but I don't mind it hot. Canada will be lovely in October!

Fall is my very favorite time of year, if I was able to take a vacation, that would be my first pick. Plus, I love Fall colors!

It depends on where I’m going. In 99 out of 100 cases it’s when the crowds aren’t big. Being retired, I get to enjoy things during the week when the crowds are smaller. And I always like to go in the winter to someplace warmer.

I dislike the summer's heat too. I always have. When I was younger, my family would pack up and head up north, where it was much cooler, for a week each year the end of July. We would go up to the Muskokas, there was a place called White Village Cabins that we and my parents' best friends, and their family, would stay in. When I got married, my husband worked in an automotive parts plant, and they had shut down for the first 2 weeks of July. We would go away, usually one of those weeks. That continued until a couple of years ago. Now we aspire to going away in September. We want to be free to help look after the girls after they start to school, and will have the summertime off from classes. And September is still quite nice here in our province.

Although I haven't been on a vacation in many years I was always happy to spend time at the Jersey shore, swim, and the rides on the boardwalk. So, I guess as much as hot weather doesn't appeal to me much anymore I'd have to say summer months. But, I know you'll enjoy the Canadian weather when you go away in October.

It depends where we went, Florida usually was November or February. In Canada we went at the beginning of September, it was a great weather.
