Firefighters with the San Luis Obispo County (SLOC) town of Creston California on Monday to rescue a horse that was trapped underneath a tree
The firefighters with the SLOC used chainsaws to remove the branches so that the horse could get back on its feet and reunite with its owner.
The SLOC firefighters are happy that they did their job to rescue a horse that was trapped under a fallen tree.
The good news is that the horse was not hurt in the incident.

That is a good question what caused the tree to fall on the horse in the first place,

That is a good question. Most likely windy weather caused the tree to fall on the horse.

A horse is a strong animal, and the tree must have been heavy to trap it like that, so that it could not free itself. It was very fortunate not to have been hurt in that situation then, and perhaps, the quick rescue, helped it to not thrash around, and hurt itself, in this situation of feeling itself trapped.

Most likely the branches were strong enough to pin the horse down on the ground

That is very true since firefighters take their job very seriously to save lives of humans and animals.
